Difference between margin and markup

Profit margin is the percentage of profit relative to the selling price (revenue). Markup is the percentage of profit relative to the cost price. Example: if you buy goods for 100 MKD and sell for 150 MKD, margin is 33.3% (50/150), while markup is 50% (50/100). Understanding the difference is crucial for correct pricing.
